Tutoring Terms & Conditions

During lessons

  • Lesson times should be adhered to. If lessons are attended late, they will finish at the originally scheduled time and be charged at the same rate.

  • Lessons take place with the learner and tutor in the room only.

  • Where an individual is under 16 or is a vulnerable individual aged post-16, the parent/carer will have provided a contact phone number and must be freely available during this time.

 

Payment terms

  • Payment shall be made six weeks or half-termly in advance.

  • Payments should be made by bank transfer within five days of the invoice.

  • Late invoices will be charged at £5.00 for each reminder. 

  • Booked slots/sessions cannot be held if payment is not made on time and may not be available to you for further lessons.

  • All payments must be made before the commencement of lessons. If no payment has been received ahead of the date and time of the scheduled sessions, no tuition will take place. 

 

  Unarranged Absences (such as sickness)

  • All cancellations are payable at the full session fee

  • Arranged Absences (such as holidays)Arranged absences should be discussed with the tutor in advance.

Tutor holidays and bank holidays

  • Sessions should continue through the holidays to ensure consistency for pupils. Sessions may be available at alternative times during holidays. 

  • There are no lessons on Bank Holidays.

 

Tutor sickness

  • If the tutor is absent, you will be contacted by text and email and the lesson balance will remain on account or refunded as appropriate.

 

Notice period

  • To avoid paying cancellation fees, please ensure that six weeks’ notice is given if you do not wish to continue with lessons.

 

General Terms

  • The Dyslexia Tutor reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.

 

 Privacy Policy

  • The Dyslexia Tutor adheres to Data Protection Guidance and is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals. Accordingly, all personal data collected will be subject to the Privacy Policy, submitted separately.
